The National Archives and Records Administration has made a release of documents pertaining to Sonia Sotomayor. However, under provisions of the Presidential Records Act, many pages have been withheld because a former president (in this case, Clinton) can shield certain records from disclosure up to twelve (12) years from the time he or she left office. Bruce Lindsay, President Clinton's representative, invoked the privilege in this case--its a shame no one clued him in on the results of last years election and President Obama's memo on government transparency.
I'm finding that there is a certain class of individuals residing in DC who applaud the administration's transparency initiatives but just doesn't think it wasn't written to apply to them. That is a shame and doesn't nothing to help good government.
