The National Law Journal has a front page story today about what may happen under a FOIA request for the Bin Laden death photos. I'm quoted, as is my friend, Mark Zaid. The story is here -- you need a subscription to read it. Basically, the first issue is who is the agency that has possession of the photos; then the issue is what exemptions will the government use to withhold the material.
As I say in the story, this is not a cut and dried issue. There are very good reasons for both release and withholding.
Update: The Village Voice has taken my quotes from the National Law Journal story on its story.
Update 2: The National Journal has this story.
