Want to be in Charge of FOIA Policy
The Department of Justice has posted the position for the Director of the Office of Information and Privacy. This was the position held by Dan Metcalfe until his retirement in January of 2007 and by Metcalfe and Dick Huff until Huff's retirement in January of 2005.
Some of the FOIA policy powers were given to the Civil Division's Office of Federal Programs in March of 2006. However, this position still has great influence in the FOIA world. It is supposed to be a career position (non-political). The posting can be found here.
