The Blog of the Legal Times reports that the government and the Memphis Commercial Appeal have come to a settlement in principal over the FOIA lawsuit concerning a reporters request for the late photographer Ernest Wither's informant file. The FBI released documents acknowledging that Withers was an informant but had unsucessfully tried to argue that this release was in error and therefore not an official acknolwedgment. The Memphis Commercial Appeal had this on the settlement.
