ABC News breaks down Thursday's hearing by the House Oversight Committee on the Department of Homeland Security's ("DHS") policy of allowing political appointees to review FOIA requests before they are finalized.
I have two points to add to the discussion: This is not a Nixonian style form of governing as Rep. Issa says it is. However, DHS would be better suited to allowing FOIA professionals to handle the requests and advising them of the requests, where appropriate, and the DHS action on the request.
