The Department of Justice has asked all agencies to post their FOIA Annual Reports in Machine-Readable Format. This is the Department of Justice's proposal to OMB's Open Government Directive of December 8, 2009. While there is clearly nothing wrong with it, I'm sure the Department of Justice could come up with some type of proactive release of information that is more in the spirit of the directive.
Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press has more on agency initiatives under the directive.
Ho-hum is right. Hardly worthy of front-page "news" on DOJ's Web site.
