The American Small Business League has sued the Small Business Administration over the SBA's refusal to release the names of Fortune 500 firms that received a major portion of more than $270 billion in federal small business contracts during 2005 and 2006. According to the plaintiff's, the SBA has even refused requests from members of Congress for a complete list of all firms the SBA reported as receiving federal small business contracts.

Remember, if a Member of Congress makes a request for records they are treated as any other FOIA requester. Only the Chairman of a Committee making a request on Committee Letterhead and stating the records are for official Committee work would the records be provided, unedited. That's the way it is supposed to work.
